Founded in 2007 by Lea Kangas, Inside Outside Architecture, Inc. (IOA, Inc.) is a team of architects, interior designers, and project managers providing quality architectural design and construction document preparation services with integrity and attention to detail. We also provide commercial architectural design and construction document preparation services for new buildings, additions, interior and exterior remodel projects. IOA, Inc. handles the coordination needed with jurisdictional agencies, code officials, financial agencies, engineering consultants etc.

We hold architectural licenses in many states with our home state being Minnesota.

Each team member has individual experience at other firms, both large and small. Their experience includes all project phases: pre-acquisition, architectural design, interior design, from construction and close-out. This knowledge, along with a team of experienced staff and consultants, will provide you with a high quality experience in architectural and interior design services now and in the future. We are pleased to say that over 90% of our projects last year were from repeat clients or referrals from past clients. Lea Kangas, Architect

Lea has been a licensed architect since 1998. She has experience working with architectural firms in both MN and SD. Mrs. Kangas has worked on many project types, both new and renovations but specializes in commercial renovation, additions and reuse. Since establishing IOA, Inc. in 2007 she has expanded her architectural practice to include projects in many states outside Minnesota. Work in other states includes tenant improvement, new construction, additions and renovations. Her attention to detail, and strong knowledge of current building codes, provides a level of service that is second to none. Additionally, she is a certified interior designer in Minnesota. Her history of repeat clients from both public and private sectors is testimony to the service she expects of herself and the entire office.
